NEW CAMRY EXTERIOR: STYLISH AND ATHLETIC

Designed with three goals in mind, namely a distinctive low center of gravity, a practical-yet-emotionally charged cabin profile, and a sporty and upscale image inside and out. The results - the new Camry - speaks for itself.

Accentuated by a two-piece grille utilizing the new Camry's "Keen Look" design philosophy, it continues upward to a curvy 1.6-inch-lower aluminum hood that sets the aerodynamic tone of the new vehicle. The design of the Camry has resulted in a sleeker profile than the previous model as a result of lowering the hip points of the occupants, which in turn results in a roofline that is 1.0-inch lower without sacrificing any interior space. This in turn allowed designers to cut a swoopier, wind-cutting design with improved aerodynamics.

CAMRY TRIM LEVELS

The New Toyota Camry is available in five individual trim levels ranging from L, LE, XLE, SE and XSE models. While the new L, LE and XLE designs cut through the wind nicely, our favorite designs are with the SE and XSE, which are decidedly more aggressive in appearance, thanks to performance like enhancements around the car. Adding in the sculpted rocker panel, new 19-inch alloy wheels, a subtle rear spoiler, aggressive front splitter/spoiler and rear bumper with diffuser and you'll have a car that looks as well as it goes. Designers were so enthralled with the new Camry Sport models that they chose to make them as recognizable as possible from a distance of over 200 feet away.

RIGID BODY MAKES FOR A COMFORTABLE RIDE

The Toyota Camry uses a new lightweight platform for more comfort and superior handling than ever before. Using a high-rigidity body platform, the Camry now boasts of a structure that is 30-percent stiffer in torsional rigidity. Other weight savings come from the usage of lightweight aluminum for the hood, and thinner body panels for the roof, trunk lid, rear doors and front fenders of the Vehicle. Through this increased effort, new Toyota engineers were able to incorporate a wide variety of Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) countermeasures to make the Camry a very quiet road car.

CAMRY INTERIOR: CABIN FEVER

Not the bad kind, the new cabin of the Toyota Camry will have you in a fever over how good it looks. With a driver-centric cockpit, the pilot will find gauges canted towards them for ease of view while behind the wheel. The front passenger is treated to a sense of openness from the other side of the center console, free to enjoy the ride. All controls are logically placed for quick access without even a glance.

The new front seats provide improved ergonomics for the road ahead, and offer maximum comfort that matches the Camry's new-found athleticism. On the dashboard, a 10-inch head-up-display keeps your eyes on the road while a seven-inch multi-information display offers vehicle details and an eight-inch audio/navigation/HVAC control offers other creature comforts.

CAMRY ENGINE & PERFORMANCE

The Toyota Camry gets its motivations from a choice of three engines. Ranging from a 206 horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Dynamic Force engine to a larger 301 horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 267 lb-ft of torque, to the Toyota Hybrid System II (THS II) powered by a 176 horsepower version of the 2.5-liter Dynamic Force engine coupled to two electric motor generators for hybrid power control and charging.

Both conventional gasoline engines are coupled to Toyota's Direct Shift Eight-Speed automatic transmission. The THS II powertrain is mated to Toyota's continuously variable transmission (CVT) for increased efficiency.

With an EPA estimated fuel economy of 29 mpg city / 41 mpg highway / 34 mpg combined with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, 22 mpg city / 33 mpg highway and 26 combined for the V6 or a stellar 51 mpg city / 53 mpg highway / 52 mpg combined for the Hybrid system, there's a Toyota Camry for nearly every appetite.
